One of the interesting things about social design and social friendly functions, however, is that many are actually very easy to implement. After all, one of the cruxes of anything that’s popular on social media is that it’s quick and easy to digest, and then share with others.

- Copy and images are going to be the real bread and butter of creating more social content. It should all be true to what the content actually is about; images that you use should avoid the typical stock photography resource for that exact reason. Headlines should be concise, and sub headers also need to have the general summary of the article, which you can do without spoiling every exact detail of its contents.
If you look at your Facebook feed, or anyone else’s, it’s actually quite easy to see how your content can and should look if you want to gather attention. Most shared links now have the header image by default, along with a bolded headline, and maybe a brief summary of what the article’s about. This compact articulation works wonders in catching the attention of anyone scrolling through their feed.
- Provide value, regardless of what your site is about. Whether its humor, or its savings, or it’s an intriguing piece of news, you need to provide some form of value if you want anyone to share the content, much less read it. It should go without saying, but there are social media consultants who focus more on the sound, and less on the substance. That’s a mistake if you want to see some long term net gains in your traffic or repeat customer base.
Finally, it pays to keep an eye on emerging social media networks when they start to gain momentum. Years ago, Instagram was relatively unknown. Now, the image sharing site has become incredibly popular. By getting in on these trends earlier, you can beat out your competition.
